Default Need Zaino Advice

Ok-I keep hearing about this Zaino stuff and need some help. I have been using other products on my black C6 (Meguiars 1,2,3 ) with ok results but not wow results.

#1) If you use Zaino, are you getting desired results

#2) If you have used Zaino and stopped, why?

#3) What else might you recommend if not Zaino

#4) What Zaino to buy for a black car and is the ZFX accelerator really needed and how good is the Z-2 Swirl/Fine scratch stuff?

#5) What causes this sickness to keep my Corvette constantly clean and shiny?

Any answers would be appreciated but please don't recommend any doctors for # 5 as my wife says i wouldn't go to treatment anyway!!

I don't know about the Zaino deal, but if you find an answer for number 5, will you let 90 percent of us know!

Greetings,

You should really address this question in the Car care section of the forum. Since you asked I'll post my results. Bear in mind, those of us using Zaino tend to be rabidly loyal, mainly because in my mind it works better than 99% of the products on the market today in terms of ease of use, durability and deep shine.

I've never used anything but Zaino on my Corvettes. I've heard of folks getting good results with NXT, Rejex and Adam's polishes as well. Good is fine, but these have not been good enough for me. Here are my examples.

First, my 1997 C5 Coupe with 59,000 miles at the time of this photo.

Second, my 2005 Precision red C6 coupe with 9,100 miles on it:

#1) Yes

#2) I'll never stop, no Corvette of mine will see anything but Zaino (But Rejex is great for windows...)

#3) NXT and Rejex are good but not as good as Zaino overall

#4) Z2 if you have no swirls Z5 if you do. I've never used ZFX as I haven't had to order any Zaino in two years (It lasts forever because you use so little each time) and I haven't noticed a problem.

#5) Buy white or silver. You can go for weeks before the dirt shows.

Yes!

Nope.

#3) What else might you recommend if not Zaino

Nothing! Zanio is the best I've used, and I tried a lot of other stuff.

#4) What Zaino to buy for a black car and is the ZFX accelerator really needed and how good is the Z-2 Swirl/Fine scratch stuff?

ZFX is a must at least twice a year. If your car doesn't have bad swirls, Z2 is fine. If it does have swirls, you need to use Z5 until the swirls are gone then follow up with a coat of Z2.

#5) What causes this sickness to keep my Corvette constantly clean and shiny?

Because it's such a fun car to drive and own you feel the need to make it look as good as it drives.

I have tried alot of junk over the last 20 years, just a month ago i tried Zaino. You can call me a Zaino slave, nothing works as well as Zaino!

Zaino keeps my GTO mirror deep clean. And you can bet once i buy a Vett it's getting Zaino the very first week!

Zaino is the way to go. If you call Ira at LA Zaino he will give easy instruction on the proper application: it's not as hard as you would think. Remember to also use the Z8 for that extra wow factor. JM.2 cents

This is the only question I will address...

As a responsibility of deciding to take the Black route, you swore to uphold the duty of keeping it clean.

You are a true vette owner who did not sally out with Silver or White... You went the hard road, the road less traveled... And you will see your results with Zaino or Rejex.

Well done!!

1. Totally happy with Zaino. Will never use anything else.

4. Buy the kit #1 at http://www.zainostore.com, and add z8. Yes, you need the Zfx for proper cross linking of the polymer - instant curing, allows for multiple coats at a time, and better durability. It'll take you a year of weekly wash and zaino application to use up one vial of ZFx. Just do it

5. I believe it's some kind of neurotoxic effect from solvents they apply to the ventilation system. But research is ongoing. The only cure is to get rid of the Vette and buy a Yugo.

** agree with STeveo242 - if you bought black, you're on notice. A great responsibility to live up to. I'm 41 and I still need 20 years of practice detailing before I'll get a black Vette

I've visited Autogeek.net where it suggests how to wash you car and which 3 products they thought were the bomb. I ordered a "DP" product from them. I'll tell ya's what, It'll be going back! After I've seen the cars posted on this thread, the testimonials by people with what I'm guessing is many many years of combined experience in car care. I'm convinced Zaino is the product for me.
Thanks to all

You are a smart man. Once you try Zaino nothing else seems to compare. Welcome to the club.

I consider it an honor to be part of the Black Corvette Society. It is truly a masochistic thing to keep our cars pristine and in head turning condition, but the reward is the shine and that "mean look" that only Black can give!!
