Default Emblems?

Getting ready to use the PC for the first time on my black '04 Z06. How do I handle getting around the emblems? I did some searching here first. Is it correct that the rear emblem is simply glued on & the front actually has 2 mounting holes? I'd be happy without them on the car at all.

Just be careful around them. If you are real concerned about damaging them use some blue painters tape on them to protect them.

Don't know specifics of the 04. Most emblems are simply glued on. YOu can remove them by using dental floss to go behind the emblem, and goo gone or paint thinner to weakni the adhesive so you can remove the emblem. But be careful - i've gotten some pretty deep cuts on my fingers trying to do this on my motorcycle.

But if you just don't want to get debris on them from the PC, just tape them off with blue painter's tape. That way the buffing dust and debris doesn't get wedged into the little cracks under the emblem.

Yes, if you want to remove them use a heat gun/blow drier and some dental floss or fishing line.

When I attended a Meguiar's detailing clinic at their headquarters in Irvine, CA, Mike used blue painters tape to mask around the emblems.....and along the edges of any body trim around windows, hatches, etc. I've since used this method and polishing and waxing is a breeze. No messy cleanup or residue.....just pull off the blue tape.

Check www.megiuarsonline.com for detailing help.

Good luck...
