well my wife just got a new "used mudstain", I know, dont laugh, anyway I tried orange pad with IP and it wasnt doing enough for me so I pulled out the Power Gloss with orange pad, which I used once before and didnt care for it, left it a bit hazy, but this time it really worked good, I have a feeling I didnt work it long enough the first time, then followed with IP and FP and finished with PS, my wife called today and told me in the sun it looked better than the vette, well I told her not to go that far..... it's still a Ford but it did turn out beatiful, here our a few pics. Does anyone know if PG has diminishing abrasives?

That's a very nice job.
(Too bad all that effort was for a Mustang.)

Anyway, yes, PG does have diminishing abrasives.

wow -- that "before" shot over the wheel well is frightening Looks like someone used a streetcleaner's broom to wash the car for a couple of years.

And you did all this with the PC ? Looks like pretty good work.
Thanks for posting the pics !

man, that IS nice work. I'll have to keep power gloss in mind.
on the Vette, where progress with the PC is VERY slow with the IP, I have pretty much given up on the PC and just go straight to the rotary and orange pad. This might be a great option for those without a rotary machine. You seemed to get great results without a big marring or hazing problem.

Off topic -- I like your lighting -- do you have a link or product number? I do need to get a nice set of lights on a stand to use when polishing inside. Just haven't seen anything great yet. Also like to have something that folds up and doesn't take up tons of space when not in use. Don't really have enough room for more overhead lights.

thanks

Hey Bugman, your right, it is sloooow with a PC and IP, especially when paint is bad, I tried PG once before and it did leave some hazing, almost like a I used a rubbing compound, but not quite that bad, but it was going slow with the IP so I said screw it, I'll try it again, this time I really worked it good, and it made a huge difference, the only thing I dont like about it is it's really thick, I had to take top off to get a decent amount out, as far as the lights on the stand, I picked them up at Walmart for like 20 or 30 bucks they work nice and you can raise or lower them, I had to laugh when you mentioned a rotary, I tried one on the stang for about 5 minutes and I got to scared, oh well maybe someday, later Ozzie

I bought a nice little lighting kit pretty much like these at Home Depot, I think $29. 2 lights on a cross bar and mounted to a tri-pod, adjustable height. Switches for hi-low and off on each light. They really bring out the imperfections, just like in CV's Mustang pics.
