I have always kept my cars cleaned and waxed, but id really like to make my 93 vert really shine. i have mothers claybar wax past not the liquid and quick detailer wash also. what is the best method/prosses that i should take to really bring back the shine. any advice would be great.
Follow Zane's process.
just to be clear, when he says "polish" he means use some mild abrasive material to sand off the old dull clearcoat layer, sand off the minor scratching and hazing that occurs with time, leaving good healthy clearcoat with perfect gloss reamaining.
Don't want to confuse this with what you'll see on most sealant products' packaging, where the sellers call them polishes but they are not.
I agree that the easiest and best thing for you to get locallyl is 3M: get yourself a bottle of 39002 and 39009. The latter is a mild product - you can try it first to remove any scratching, but you'll probably see that it doesn't remove the swirls (despite it's name), so then go to 39002 instead - it will do a great job to remove swirls and polish the surface to a perfect smooth gloss.
Bottom line:
wash
clay
wash to remove clay residue
39002 with PC to remove swirls. I don't know how hard the '93 paint is, but on my '05 I use a setting of 5.5 and orange pad
39009 with PC to further perfect the surface I use setting 4 with white pad
wash to remove buffer dust
apply favorite wax - Mothers Reflections has an excellent reputation if you happen to have it in the garage.
