which one is better? the griots has the velcro attachment and has a pad where clay can be added. adams pc has the quick attachment. dont know which to get please give feedback. thanx brad
They are both the same machine except for the accessories. I do like the Edge Pads that Adams sells. I got mine at Lowes for 90 bucks and just bought a backing plate and pads from vendors.
Lowes sells it as the 7336sp and sells it with both buffing and sanding accessories.
If you truly want one of the most exciting things to use with the PC, consider the Edge kits. No velcro and no backing plate. And innovative quick change pad kit and the ability to use two sides of the pad. http://www.autogeek.net/foam-polishing-kit.html
As for buffing with clay, I would highly consider against it. With any speed the clay could fall apart and any pressure could grind pieces into paint making a mess. Part of claying is the tactile feel of the clay in your hand allowing you to "feel" exactly where the contaminents are.
Griots original buffer was a relabeled PC7424. The newer model is actually a chinese based machine. The most innovative offer is the vacuum to remove dust. I would love to see it in action.

get the PC kit at autogeek. One advantage to the PC is ---- it's what everyone else has. So the entire universe is available to answer your questions later on , like what pads to use, what speeds to use, what compounds to use.
The problem with getting a lesser known version or brand is that you won't be able to directly compare and learn from all the other guys in the detailing world. Best to start with the standard. Later on when you're an expert you can go off the beaten path an use products or machines that suit your special tastes, but if you're a beginner you haven't developed those tastes yet. Kind of like saying you'd better learn to ride your bike before buying a formula one car .
