it just doesnt have that deep dark shine like i was expecting. it looks like there are lighter and darker shades of black in the sun.

I started using NXT on my 03 when it first became available. Never experienced what you described. As I never wax a car until 4 months after a born date, the C6 hasn't seen wax. Still trying to decide, but will probably end up using Zaino.

My suggestion is to get the Zaino pro kit and follow the steps to the deepest glossy shine possible. I could not believe the look after I did my Black baby.

You'll love the Zaino results

Although Zaino and Rejex will give you better results, NXT is not that bad ... it sounds like though you MAY have used too much wax ... too thick a coat possibly?
Go over to the car care section - I would advise washing the car with Dawn to remove the NXT, CLAYBARRING, and then use Zaino or Rejex on it ... but nice thin coats of wax with a good quality applicator ... that will cure your problem.

I use Meguiars NXT wax and it came out looking like this:

my red GM truck had that haze...
looks like the paint was not clear on mine (like the clear coat on the polished wheels - hazy/milky look)
i stripped the wax... took out the buffing machine.... got some polish.... and went to town..... it was a pain but turned out OK....
be careful the paint is very thin and the machine can cut into a corner/edge very quickly....
my silver C6 seems to have it...i wont know till i polish it out....
to busy driving it for now...... let's see..... drive..... polish...... drive..... polish......
also the '07 black C6 i saw at the dealer had a very bad paint job!!!!
orange peel was bad... it may also have been as you described but i wasn't looking for that...

Same problem here with my black '05. I now use a very light coat of NXT and buff, then I buff some some, then I take a break and buff a little more. No more smears or haze.

Zaino Zaino Zaino
Use Zaino 10 times a week or more. I use all Zaino on my Black Z. Get there top of the line starter kit. I had my detailers Wash, Clay, Polish, wax, polish, wax, polish, wax, polish, wax, wax. Then used the Z6, Then used Z8 Final. The Z8 Final is the best I have ever used.
I then use Z8 every time after I drive the car. This keeps clean and protected. But you have to follow all the direction carefully for Zaino to be perfect. The Z8 will leave a haz or streek if applied wrong. You have to work small areas, wipe off and then dry quickly. Zaino can not dry or sit on paint long. I have 2 guys at same time doing it. One apply and one to wipe off.
