Sorry, another ? about the PC. I have an 04 in excellent shape and want to keep it that way. I use Zaino and am very happy with it. If I use a PC, am I really going to save that much time and effort. Is it only going to be used taking off the product. How many different pads are really required for a situation like mine?
Thanks
Exactly right. Using a PC only to remove a product is pretty much a waste of time, unless you're detailing a motorhome or something huge.
Use the PC like you would any other tool, to help you do difficult jobs and ease your physical workload. The best use for a PC or any other polisher is for polishing paint, the step that is the most time consuming and physically demanding.
You can certainly use it to apply waxes, glazes and sealants too. Using the PC to remove wax is fine but that's usually one of the easiest things to do by hand, and it's probably quicker to do by hand as well.
Like GMBlack is saying, unless you want it to polish your finish with Zaino Fusion ZPC, it is a waste of time. That being said I recommend you get it and use it with ZPC once or twice a year to maintain your perfect finish. Pending on your washing and drying methods you really should polish your car with a light abrasive like ZPC atleast once a year to remove any slight scratches and swirls that are introduced via washing and drying. Dark colors even more often.
I would also continue applying Z2p and Z5p by hand.
agree with all the above. Do not buy a PC for zaino application - a waste of money.
DO buy a PC so that you can buff out swirlmarks on your own when you want to, and for at least a couple times a year a treatment with Zaino-PC Fusion. You'll definitely want to have a Lake Country Orange pad and a white pad. I prefer to use the orange pad with Zaino-PC because the Vette clearcoat is so hard. It will take some of those scratches out and really make the surface glow.
If you're dead set against actually polishing the car, then don't buy a pc.
By the sound of your replies, I could survive without a PC for my vette. I'm only able to drive about 5k/year, and if it's only advisable for once/year with z-pc, which I could also apply by hand......
However, I could also use it on our other 3 dd's, one of which is a pickup, so I may give it a go anyway. If I buy one I'm sure I'll be back with more questions.
Thanks for the replies.
A PC is a fine addition to all detailing aersonals. There is no right or wrong way to use one, well except for throwing it at the car. Most use it to polish paint, and that includes amping the surface with a final polish and finishing pad. Some use it to add/remove wax. Now this is personal preference. They can also be used to scrub carpets and you can get brush attachments. What is true is your hand can never replicate the work a PC can do easily. IMO everyone should have one, novice or pro.
