VANtastic

This is one of those jobs that you get and think to yourself, why in the @#$% did I take this on. Buffing alone is usually a lot of work but when you have to try it standing on the next to last step of a 6' ladder leaning waaaaaaaaaay -> over trying to reach the center of a mega roof.
I meant to ask bglmn if he needs to take any special routes due to low bridges.
Some of you might remember I did bglmn's vette a few weeks ago and either he liked it so much, or maybe I really pissed him off, but he decided to bring his van to me to get me back.
Just kidding Jack, I know you like me. Anyway, Jack bought this beautiful van in 04 and figured it was time to finally put a coat of wax on it.
This is one of the nicest vans I have ever seen, talk about equiped, it has more electronics and remotes than my house does. A few before shots.

And the inside.

Some stains on the gray leather.

Turn your head sideways. Sorry, I got lazy, I am beat after this job.

I do not know what was all over this van but it was even on the windows. It felt like sand paper. After talking to blgmn when he picked it up I suspect it was years worth of grease since he said he parks it next to an Italian Restaurant next to the big blower. What ever it was it did not want to come off and turned my pads black.
You can see it pretty good on the hood pic. You should have seen it on the roof.

Believe it or not I was able to do the entire van with just my ROB and some Zaino Fusion (ZPC). Actually I used 60/40 Adams Revive and Adams SSR on the roof since I needed a little more bite and it was in full sun. Of course I ended up doing a 50/50 wipe and applying Zaino Z5p on it later in the day as the sun went down.
I did the sides and hood and rear doors with just ZPC and a tan Meguiars foam pad set on 5.5. I had to use a yellow Meguiars pad on the windows.
I used Zaino Z16 on all the weatherstripping, tires and foot wells.
Z9 and Z10 on all the leather
Stoners on the inside of the windows.
And Zaino Z5 was applied on the entire van, 2 coats in some areas.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Between you and ECS, this Forum has turned me on to some guys
who've made me a very happy camper.

And yes, ECS does some awesome work too. I highly recommend them for any performance mods.
Do you think you'll have time this weekend to come over and do my church bus??

I feel like I just got done doing a church bus.
Thanks for all the compliments guys.

One of my first jobs was a black dodge van. The LONG LONG ONE!
It looked similar to that one, but when I was done with it, it looked nice.
Getting black to be glossy is the easy part. Keeping it that way is difficult.
Nice results agent!! I'll bet your arms are tired
