Intensive Polish vs Final polish II....... does anyone know what the difference is and the prexisting conditions for usage for each?......and does anyone know if any large autopart chains carry it? Thanks in advance.

Intensive Polish is for moderate to heavy defects. Final Polish is for very light defects and to use after IP to fully burnish the finish.

You'll only find it at certain online retailers.

Menzerna IP and FP-II are the only polishes that I've used. I've been so happy with the results that I see zero reason to try any other brand. I had a heavily swirlled paint job and Menzerna did the trick.

Yes, it was very labor intensive, even with a PC, but the results are stunning!

Truthfully I really am not using final polish II much if at all.
The Intensive Polish is what you need to get those swirlmarks out, and I really can't tell the difference whether I use MFPII afterwards or not, so I'm concluding that I probably don't need it.

Also, I've found that Zaino - PC fusion is similar (very mild abrasive) to MFP, yet leaves you with a MUCH cleaner surface, ready for your sealant.

So I'd recommend getting the MIP. Either don't use a second step at all, or use Z-PC instead of MFP II.

I'll try this next time I'm polishing! Bugman, do you see any reason to apply Z-PC more than once if 95%+ of the swirls have been removed by the MIP?

In my experience, I do see a difference after using FPII with a polishing or finishing pad. I see more gloss and depth. YMMV

Actually I use Menzerna Final Finish Polish (PO85RD-Cut: 2/10 Gloss: 10+/10) or Menzerna Final Finish Polish (PO106FF-Cut: 5/10 Gloss: 10/10) which has higher gloss levels than FPII (Cut 4/10 Gloss 8/10). I also apply Menzerna's Finishing Touch Glaze which gives great pop to my Machine Silver metallic flakes.

Yes, I like the combination of MIP first, then Z-PC instead of MFP-II. Just personal preference.

No, there is no rule for how many passes you have to make with your Zaino-PC fusion. I make sure I've gotten all the real work done with MIP, then just make one good pass over with Z-PC to really gloss the finish. If you've gotten to a point that makes you happy that's all that matters - quite and seal her up !

90 - 95% is a good target to aim for, if you actually plan on driving the car. You could go crazy and polish every weekend just trying to get that last 5% of marks off (which only YOU can see anyway). Instead of going crazy with the polisher, FILL IN that last 5% of imperfections with something like Zaino Z5Pro, or any good carnauba-based wax.

I prefer their ceramic line PO106ff and am usually able to remove moderate swirls and finish to a perfect shine with it but I am using a rotary. Regardless, I like it better with a ROB also but your defect removal is limited with a ROB no matter what you use. It can be done with a ROB but will take a LOT more time. I usually follow up my menzerna with ZPC and a ROB for a perfect finish that is oil free ready to accept Zaino.
