Default Ready to switch

I've read the threads about the Zaino products and have decided to switch.
First though, I'd like some specific input from people who have used the products. I'll describe my situation and then what I'd like to do.

I've got an 02 Torch Red Vert that is my DAILY DRIVER. Since purchashing the vette I've been using Mothers 3-Step products(can I name names???). Well the gloss and depth of shine are nowhere close to what I've seen on the threads.

So I'd lide to switch to the Zaino products. I'm thinking of using them like this: step 1 - dawn wash
step 2 - Clay Bar
step 3 - Z7 wash
step 4 - Z5 polish
First question: for the next step should I use Z2 polish (3 coats) or can I use the AIO here?
step 6 - CS sealer

Ok guys.....Will this work for me???

the weather is purfect right now and I've got a full day to work on it. I'm pumped to get my ride lookin good.

Everybody chime in...lookin forward to the inputs

Clay first.

Do you have a PC or are you doing everything by hand?

You will start with ZAIO first. If no PC work it in a little by hand. Do the whole car and then remove. Do not use alot, it should only take you 1oz to do your vette. Its a great paint cleaner.

You next step/s will depend if you have ZFX or not.

Using ZFX

If you do you can put up to 3 coats of Z5/2pro in one day, that is a total of 3 coats. If you have ZFX I would do 2x of Z5pro with ZFX and then the last coat of Z2 you do not need ZFX.

Use very little Z2/5pro. Being this is your first time, you will use too much. If apply it so thin that its hard to tell if its covered all the paint you are using the correct amount.

No ZFX

If you don't have ZFX you can only apply 1 coat of Z2/5pro every 24 hours. You need to use ZAIO as your base here. Apply ZAIO by hand as above. Then apply 1 coat of Z5pro.

Use Z6.

After that you can apply Clear Seal. Use the cotton app that came with your clear seal. Again as with all zaino products use very little.

1. Spritz a little on your cotton app.
2. Work an area like half of your hood.
3. In one sweeping motion spray clear seal on the surface.
4. Work it back and forth 3-4 times.
5. Move to the next section.

If you have any questions, feel free to post again.

Step 1 it totally wrong, don't use dawn to wash the car, as for the other steps.....I don't use Zaino.

Dawn is only required for removing old wax, if polishing first which I reccomend it is not required. Although if you do not use ZPC as your polish wash with Z7 first. Another alternative is a 50/50 wipe.

If the car does not require much correction and the finish just needs a quick spruce up go with Z-AIO, Z5p (1 or 2 coats max is fine, note, if doing more than 1 coat at a time you will need to use ZFX) then CS and Z8 after the CS has dried.

If you need moderate paint correction replace the Z-AIO with ZPC. Note: You will need ZFX for your first coat in this instance.

Get ready to be blown away.

Use the dawn only as a one time wash to help remove oils and grease and such build up on the exterior and also help remove wax so that you can get to the raw and recondition it so it looks good when you're ready to finish.

Don't use dawn for every wash, just this first while you're detailing the car.

I assume you'll be working by hand...if so, I'd recommend:

ZAIO
Z5 Pro
Z8

thanks guys...once again ya'll were right on point///just to clarify;yes i was only going to use the dawn to remove the polish/wax/finish (call it what you will). from there it will be only Zaino products. also, yes it will all be done by hand; i've never used a PC and i don't want to screw it up{but then again, i guess i could practice on the wife's?}...nah better not!!!
