Occaisionally I'll get a few very small, very hard, "deposits" on my finish... almost like a clear resin. I can scratch them off with my fingernail, but I find that actually damages the paint. I cover the spot with small patches (dime size) of paper towel and saturate with WD40. Fifteen minutes will usually soften whatever it is, enough to wipe off.
