I purchased some microfiber towels from Sam's Club. While I was using one to remove Rejex from my clear bra, I noticed it was putting scratches on it. I was not pressing really hard. The towel was new out of the package. Any ideas? I thought these are the newest and greatest thing to use. Thanks, David
consistency and manufacturing quality can very quite differently from towel to towel, especially those sold in bulk. You could have one or two good towels in the bunch, and the rest are adequate at best. Some use the cd test (buff cd, see if scratches) and others buy from quality vendors that require certain quality before selling to public.

I've used the cheaper MF towels and they really can be hit or miss. I have a bunch of cheap towels that I use for glass, rims and interior cleaning but when it comes to my paint, I use higher quality towels.
Autogeeks has a special going and I just ordered 20 of them. I bought my other towels from them as well (Cobra) and they work really well.

Every cheapo mf cloth I've tried has been mostly miss. I bought some by Black Magic (highly rated products according to Consumer Reports) and their yellow mf polishing cloth started to disintegrate itself on my black top. Talk about a hassle removing those specks. Took two rounds with a clay bar before the paint was smooth again. Good thing I noticed it while I was only in a small section.
I've heard positive comments about the Cobra mf cloths. I've also been using Adam's new deluxe mf cloths and have had great results and no scratches even with applying heavier pressure. They're also good at removing polish and applying detail sprays. The folks at Zaino are also working on some mf cloths and I'm interested in seeing the end results.
