Rim scratch
; is there anything I can do to try and remove the scratch? The shop owner said that it probably happened when they removed the weights since they are on so well. He said that fine sand paper would smooth the scratch out. I've used the search function and couldn't find anything helpful. Looking for any ideas before I take anything the wheel. Thanks
- You're talking about the wheel "barrels" right? the inside of the wheel, that is not directly visible from the outside? As opposed to the "face" of the wheel - the part that you directly look at?
- What kind of wheels? Bare aluminum ? Clearcoated aluminum? Chrome? Painted and clearcoated?
Your approach would be much different depending on the above.
I can tell you that for clearcoat and bare aluminum, it will be easy to fix. For chrome, don't even bother - either live with it, or send the wheel out to a really qualified chrome repair shop - http://www.fixrim.com for example.
