Keep a good coat of wax on the car and then put rainx on the front bumper, windshield and side mirrors.

ZAINO does it all. Bugs wipe off with a damp micro fiber towel.

I have also found that a moistened dryer sheet works well to remove the bugs that remain.

ARGH!!!! Did you ever read the label on rainX? It says "Do not spill, splatter or use on painted surfaces or on plastic..." RainX uses sulfuric acid to slightly etch the glass so that the siloxanes will bond with the silica in the glass. Put in on a painted surface and ...

And before you think I'm anti-rainX, I use it all the time and think it's a great produce. But I've read the directions and it is FOR GLASS ONLY!!!

Rejex works on every smooth surface of a Corvette. Love bugs don't stand a chance against Rejex.

I just keep a good coating of polish on the car and if I get too many bugs I use a standard "Bug & Tar Remover." The stuff works like magic. Just wash with soap afterwards and re-polish.

Not sure how many of these posts have experienced "Love Bugs"
These critters will eat the paint and if left on for more than about 10 hours are a bitch to get off.
The newest stuff on the market is called Love Bug Cleaner and has gotten alot of publicity here in Florida.
It does work, spray it on wait a minute or 2 and hose em off.
No amount of wax I know of protects against these. We get them in the spring and again in the fall. They have a very low "splat speed" and can ruin your paint.

Best way to avoid Love Bug clean up in Florida is simply do NOT drive in the late afternoon when they are most active. I am really amazed that so many folks think Florida is such a great place to go crusing....it either rains, Love bug season in spring and fall, afternoon T-storms in the summertime, bugs ALL summer long.....and watering restrictions during the dry winter and spring months.

You just can NOT keep a vette clean living in Florida.

Rejex is great. I put it on the front cap, windshield, and side mirrors when I picked my '08 up at the Museum. Drove back to S FL (1086 miles) and only had to hose the bugs off.
