It's always the simple things that work so well. If anyone has not tried these detail sponges offered by Adams they are great for applying tire shine, and other detailing tasks. I hesitated to buy "pieces of foam", but picked up them at the All Truck Nationals show in Carlisle a couple of weeks ago. I used to use towels and applicators to apply tire shine, but these work so much better. They get into tight areas easily and keeps your hands relatively clean doing so. What a simple solution and tool. I will be purchasing more a Corvettes of Carlisle this weekend. Here's the link...

The Eagle One tire swipes work great and you can pick them up at any auto parts store. I really like the way they are contoured.
It's funny, I've been using similar foam as shown above for the last few months for applying my tire dressing. The high end computer monitors ($14K per monitor) that my company resells uses the same foam for packing material in the monitor boxes. After my techs do an install I occasionally have them save the foam sheets for me. I get some pretty good sized sheets (36"X36") for free and I can make a ton of applicators out of them. The foam also works great for putting inside of a case for storage of delicate items such as camera's, R/C equipment, etc...
