Clear ?
I want to polish my sons 05 Wrangler and was wondering. Is the typical advice just start lighter with the pads/polish and go from there?
I have used IP/orange pads on the vette with great results, just don't want to do harm.
Thanks.

That's part of the reason for always beginning with a "2' X 2' test area ". it is to make sure that you only work on a small area first, determine the formula of machine, pad, polish, arm speed, pressure -- that is correct for that particular auto.
Once you've done your test area to perfection, write down everything you did, and just repeat it on the rest of the car.
If you have a few types of cars that you've had extensive experience with, then of course you know what the clear is like, and you can skip some steps and perhaps jump right in with a more aggressive approach. But always good advice to take your time and work your way up in aggressiveness. I've sure gotten into some problems in the past whevenver I've tried to pollish "in a hurry".
