Default Wheels

I have an C4 which is currently being repainted. The wheels have a clearcoat finish which is starting to peel. What is the best method to remove the old clearcoat and get the wheels back to original shape so they can be recoated?

Thanks for your help.

I've heard of some people using aircraft stripper. It's probably easiest/best to leave them in the hands of professionals.

I've used aircraft stripper (bought it at either autozone or advance) in a spray can when I wanted to repaint the wheels on my 79 MGB convertible. It removed everything down to bare metal.

John- If you decide to go this route, be sure to read the SAFETY instructions on the can. The stuff WILL burn your skin, eyes and lungs if you don't wear the proper gear.
