So it was a nice day so I thought I'd wash my car after the weekend. while washing the car a friend called to invite me and the warden over for coffee. She told him I was washing my Corvette, and handed me the phone.
He asked if I was washing the "clean" off my car because that was the only thing on it, clean.
Do you friends make fun of how clean you keep your car?
You have NO idea. That is pretty much what I am known for in my neighborhood. Half my neighborhood is using Zaino now after stopping and asking me what I use since my cars always look so good.
Yeah, the neighbor lady thinks I'm crazy. But with the Vette, I tend to wash it waaayyy before it gets to the "filthy" stage. So to the average person, it does appear that I'm washing a clean car. But as soon as they start making my car payment for me, I'll stop.

I smell what you're cookin'! I was getting ready to wash the vette this morning. My neighbor says, "Is there any actual dirt to wash off this time"? There was...he just couldn't see it.
Yes I do as well. Before I got my 07 C6 in February, keeping our vehicles clean was not on the top of my list. I took care of them, but not as often I should have. Since I bought my 07 C6 coupe, things have been different. The neighbors wonder what's wrong with me! The Vette and our two SUVs have been getting the TLC they deserve.
After spending 28+ years in corporate America, I retired in March. I have more time now and the interest to take care of the vehicles has been rekindled. In my 20's and into my 30's, I could not stand to have an unclean car. Priorities changed as I got older and the car care duties got away from me for the most part. Spending $50K+ on the Vette was a very good reason for me to start taking an interest again.
I've only been a member of this form for short time. So much information is available here, but it's worth the time perusing the threads. Y'all are great!

yes, - I'm sure you're right - I was going to write "Charlie in the box" last night, but I wasn't quite sure about it.
This forum is our "misfit island", where you can feel at home.
You should have seen the look I got yesterday while drying my wife's car with the leaf-blower - some lady walking her dog looked at me like I was an absolute lunatic.
The car came out looking FANTASTIC, however (Zaino clearseal on black about a month ago, just freshly washed ).
Right-on about the leaf blower......my neighbors already think I'm nuts and i only wash it every week....Sunday afternoon, usually. But over the last 3 months or so, I've been using the leaf blower and wow it works perfectly. A small 12 x 12 waffle weave is all I need to dry the car.
But the thing that really amuses me is everyone stopping as they pass by, saying, "can I bring mine by next?" I smile, of course, and say, "sure." And if they took me up on it, I would initiate them into the world of Zaino.
I am the same way with my 01. It must be clean before it is driven so therefore I wash it a lot. The two Mustang owners across the street are always making comments, although one is a Corvette lover (just has not come out of the closet yet), because he stops over to look it over when even his neighbor is not home. In fact, he has started to use the same brand of cleaning products I use.
I agree with the leaf blower. I always wash the car then pull it in to the garage to dry it. I use the leaf blower all the time, and that will draw the looks as well as a few comments. It does not bother me, because it sure does speed up the drying time. I spend more time drying the door jams, hatch area and engine compartment, then I spend on the body, glass and wheels because of it.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
