kind of depends what sealant you want to use on it from now on.
For best bonding, your Zaino should be applied to bare paint, so if you're a zaino guy, you give a dawn wash only the first time, to try to strip off any wax that the dealer applied. That would be good advice for other synthetic sealants as well.
If you're using over the counter wax, it really won't matter much - just wash and wax as usual. I don't find the "bonding" issue that important for waxes because they melt off the car or fall off the car in two weeks anyway.
I thought we established that Dawn doesn't strip Zaino off the finish...that only 50/50 would do that. Wouldn't that be true for other synthetic sealants as well?
yes you are correct - Dawn does not remove Zaino, at least not very well.
As I said, the Dawn is to remove any wax that the dealer might have applied.
Dealers like to use carnauba waxes because they can fill in scratches much better than if a synthetic sealant is used. Good idea to strip that stuff off before applying Zaino, (just as it states in the Zaino instructions).
