I have a 2005 vette and a few months ago i spilt coffee on the console next to the drink holders,i wiped it off right away, but noticed there are still nasty looking spots still there. i've tried everything of to get them off, needless to say with no luck, the stains are still there. I'd like to know if anybody had this problem also. and if so what did you do to remedy this problem. i would appreaciate any help anyone can give me

I don't have an answer for you but a suggestion; post your question in the Car Care Section. There are very talented and knowledgeable folks over there who can probably give you sage advice. Good luck.

Turtle Wax makes a Bug & Tar remover that takes off everything....

I used it once on the floor mats, wear people always seem to have dirty shoes... worked like a charm, floor mats look like new...

Try brake cleaner - you know the spray for cleaning rotors and pads. This stuff is similar in makeup to PERK which is used in dry cleaning. I have used it with success cleaning minor stains in carpet.

It's not coffee stains. I have the same problem with my 05 console and don't drink coffee. It will get worse and worse. Let me guess yours is silver and looks stained all over. I brought it to the dealer and they said they would replace it. then a Rep saw it and said I had spilled something on it.By the way we are not the only ones it will never come off. GM told me the more complaints they hear the more likly they will do something about it. Hey anyone else have this problem call me AT 281-376-0501, Gm told me the more the merrier.

f) Coffee Stain Removal-The degree of removal is going to depend on a couple of details.
a) Coffee contain tannins are a strong natural dye.
b) Coffee with cream, milk is protein based and may take a specialized protein 'digester' to eliminate, Protein Stain Remover HT-67 (http//:www.topoftheline.com)

c) Usually coffee is hot when spilled; hot tannin soaks in deep and sets semi-permanently.
•Vacuum the area vigorously, to loosen the fabric fibres, remove dust and dry contaminants that may add to the problem if exposed to water.
•Start with a mild detergent, rinse with clean cool water so as to prevent further setting of the stain.
•Use a Wet-Dry vacuum, pre-wet (do not soak) the area and vacuum, thereby creating a flushing effect.
•Allow to dry and inspect for discoloration (mask off surrounding unaffected areas).
•Apply 303™ or Folex Carpet/ Upholstery Cleaner & Spot Remover in a misting spray bottle.
•Mist the areas lightly several times to help lighten the stain, allow to completely dry between applications.

That's why I do eat or drink in my cars.
I hope you can get the stains cleaned up.

If the stains are on your rug try Folex. If they are on plastic trim try Spray Nine.

I've been lucky with Folex on the carpeted or fabrics, Griot's interior cleaner on the plastic areas. Let us know the outcome.
