Default Bug Guts...HELPPPP!!!!

Had to make a road trip to Florida to pick up Wifey. Since she's deployed to the desert and I hadn't seen her in 6 months, I thought it would be kinda rude to immediately wash the car when we got back to Montgomery, so the bug guts sat on the Vette for a few days. Now after 3 washes, it looks like I've got permanent "Pits" in the bumper cover. Is there anything I can do or am I "S-O-L"?

Thanks

The love bugs here in Florida are VERY acidic and I still haven't found a product that will protect against them.

You'll probably need to use a good quality buffer such as a PC or a rotary and an abrasive product. Always start least aggressive to most. If the pits aren't too bad, Menzerna IP with either a white (least) or orange (more aggressive) should help either remove them or make them a lot less visible.

The best thing I've found is to keep a layer of Rejex on the front bumper and then when you notice bug splatter a quick shot of QD and a microfiber cloth will remove them a lot easier.

But even then if you let them sit long enough you'd still need a PC or rotary to polish out the damage. Love bugs are one of the worst.

if pitting has occured they likely breached the paint. In future keep a small spray bottle (travel size) with Pooboys Bug Squash in it. A couple spritzes and wipe with MF Towel is all thats needed between washes.

I bought a few small travel spray bottles from Wal-Mart and keep one in each vehicle filled with some Zaino Z6 along with a MF towel. Just a few quick squirts and a wipe with one of my Cobra MF towels and the bugs come off easily as long as they haven't been baked on in the sun.
