I have always taken polish/wax off by hand but the past sports injuries are catching up with me. What buffer do you guys recommend? I've never used one so any input or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
A random orbital buffer (UDM, PC, Cyclo) are the most popular and quite safe in use. Rotary or circular buffers are most often used by professionals and can do repairs quicker but much more harmful when used improperly or too fast.
I sold my orbital polisher when I switched from wax to Zaino and haven't looked back.
Using Z, which I do, does not liberate you from the need of a buffer. Quite the opposite. Z will only do what it does best with a properly prepared surface.
Using a PC7424 with a polish first will work wonders.
Everyone should have at least a PC.
Just looked at your OP again.
My advice, as well as every one else for a PC relates to polishing, not removing.
I did apply Z once with a PC/black pad to see how it went. It went well, but it's the only time I tried it. Since then, just by hand.
Removing polish/sealant/wax by machine??????
Someone else will have to chime in.

Disagree with you, I haven't used a buffer for three years! Only prep is clay baring every year.

Enjoy your buffer!
Look closely, and I can guarantee you you have minor imperfections that a PC would help with.
Claying definitely does not take the place of what a PC can do. Compliment it, yes, replace it, a definite no.
Certainly nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree though.

Robin, very safe and you will wish you had one sooner. Remember to read the directions and add the washer, its the only issue and most have it as "we" seem to neglect to read directions first.
