Surface Prep Questions
I currently have Zaino fusion as a polisher but i'm sure its going to be too weak of a cut. I just bought a 7 in rotory buffer so whatever works with that size will work.
After the surface is prepped I'll be doing...
2 Coats of Z2 + ZFX
2 Coats Z-CS
Edge yellow wool with presta 1500 polish for moderate defects.
Edge yellow wool with 3M extra cut compound for deeper defects.
Menzerna SIP is good but IMO a PITA to work with. It was actually made to work on the final assembly line in a controlled environment.
Finishing polishes: You should be able to clean up any "wool mess" with ZPC and a white LC CCS pad.
Menzerna 106ff- very nice but can at times also be a PITA, not as bad as SIP IMO. LC CCS white pad
3M ultra fina- My favorite finishing polish. Get it with the 3M blue 8" foam polishing pad. Never a hologram left on the rotary. Even on soft black clears.
Menzerna FPII- works very nice. LC CCS white pad.
I have also been able to remove a significant anount of defects with just ZPC and the proper pads on my rotary. For instance if you have a purple foamed wool pad and use it with ZPC at speeds of 900 to 1200 it will remove some pretty significant moderate swirling and then just follow up with a white pad/ZPC and then apply your Zaino.
Second of all and no offense intended, do you know what you are doing with a rotary? ( I don't).
If you do, take their advice.
If you don't, get a PC7424.
