Used Porter Cable

I was thinking about buying one but I wasn't sure about making the investment as I'm not sure if it would be something I would use all the time so I was interested in a used one.
Does anyone out on the forum here have one that they aren't using and would like to get rid of or a used one that they would be willing to part with?
Sorry if this doesn't fit here, but it didn't seem right to put it in the Parts Section.

At any price the PC is a great tool and if I had known our vendors here sold them as stand alones (with out a kit) then I would've purchased from them.
I'm now going to buy a detail kit from one of them as I need to stock up on most my products anyhow

I guess we both missed it!!
I did not think to note that we sold the machine alone, as I thought you saw it and felt the price difference wasnt justified. We do try and keep them as low as possible, and our no hassle return is usually worth any extra $$. Dealing with manufacturers is not always fun ....
Please note we do carry the UDM (Ultimate Detailing Machine) also to others looking for a compatible product. Its a little stronger, but not as time tested as the PC.
At first impression, I am very impressed with the Flex. Definitely has much more power than the PC that I have used many times over the past few years. With the PC it was pretty easy to stop the spinning of the pad just by applying a small amount of pressure and it would also slow itself down when coming in contact with ridges like in the center of the hood. I could not stop the Flex no matter how much pressure I applied.
Although I am not sure about the actual offset specs, the Flex "feels" like it has a much shorter "throw" from the center of rotation (i.e. it "feels" more like a standard rotary buffer with maybe shorter "random" strokes)?
I was able to remove all the cat-claw scratches in one set of passes and was even able to remove some deeper scratches that the PC could not touch the last few times using the same pad and polish.
The PC also allowed you to spin the pad by hand when powered off - the Flex is rigid and cannot be spun by hand.
I also really like the fact the I can let up on the trigger and the speed slows down incrementally - so the dial only sets a maximum speed with the trigger fully depressed. I have always hated the switch on top of my PC.
The front handle on the flex is also a better design than the side handle on the PC (although the Flex also ships with an optional side handle). I finally removed my handle altogether on the PC a couple years ago, but your left hand is "cooking" by the time you are done using my PC.
The sound level of the Flex is also a bit less and much smoother. There was much more "vibration" with the PC - in other words you could tell it was orbiting "randomly" - I did not get that "feeling" with the Flex - it "felt" and looked again more like a rotary pattern being laid down.
After using the Flex, the PC now feels like something designed to apply wax with. I have used PCs for 7 years and they did a good job both for the price and were very "safe" to use, but this Flex unit doesn't play around as much - it gets with the program! You would have to really work at it to mess up your paint with a PC, but the Flex feels like you could maybe do some damage if you got carried away - but you would have to just not be paying attention.
I also like the fact that I can lay the Flex on it's back and it stays in position when trying to attach a microfiber bonnet, PC always wants to fall to its side.
I think both units weight about the same in actuality, but the Flex "feels" a little heavier to be probably due to weight distribution?
So far, I would have to give it an "Excellent" review based on design, performance and results. Don't think I will be going back to the PC anytime soon. That is not a put down at all - the Flex is just in a different league IMO (for the price difference it had better be)!

It should come inside the plastic bag with the instructions. Your PC will act like a totally different animal after you install the washer.....
Good luck......
