I was planning on detailing the Z before a clear bra gets on. I just have a few questions about the steps and products to use. I got the basics just acouple steps in between im unsure about.
I was planning on washing and a light claying since the car is garaged and shouldnt have to much contamination. After claying is what I am unsure about. I am planning on doing everything by hand and have read to expect to see more of the swirls and small scratches, so what should do i inbetween the claying and rejex....
Prewax cleaner
than polisher
then rejex it.
Should I use a Swirl and Haze in there somewhere?
I dont believe I would need to was since rejex does most of that.
Thanks for the help I looked around but everything was aimed more at machine polishing.
1.) Wash/rinse
2.) Claybar if needed
3.) Optional steps. Menzerna IP with orange pad followed by Zaino ZPC with a white pad. I use a Porter Cable 7424 random orbital.
4.) Rejex
5.) Let Rejex cure for 12 hrs and then go over it again with a gloss enhancer.
Keep in mind Rejex has no cleaning or abrasive properties whatsoever and needs to be applied directly to clean paint and allowed time to cure.
I dont have an orbital polishing machine. Im doing everything by hand. I just need to know if i should follow the claying by anything before applying ziano
The washing, claying and polishing part sounds good, but you might want to check with the installer before applying Rejex to the area where the clearbra will be installed. Most professional installers request that the area be free of wax or sealant. Many of them will clay your car themselves as part of the service just prior to putting on the clearbra.
It's pretty difficult to polish the vette's hard clearcoat by hand. I've used Adam's swirl and haze remover and Revive polish both by machine and by hand with pretty good results. Meguiars also has some pretty good polishes that can be applied by hand.
