So I got the PC7424 a few months ago I have gotten decent with it. But I have problems getting out some swirls and light scratches.
So a couple quick questions...
How do I know if I am using enough/to much pressure
Also how much polish am I supposed to use. I have gone by the videos on autogeek but it just doesnt seem like there is a lot on there. Is this similar to the Zaino philosophy that less is more? Or do you need to really use a good bit on there?
I like MIP/orange, but some say SIP is even better. Follow up with ZPC/orange, then ZPC/white.
Speed = 5-6.
Keeping to a 2'x2' area is important.
Not really scientific, but you don't need a lot of polish, and you use a little bit of pressure.
if you use to much pressure the machine bogs and pad doesnt quite spin freely. As for polishes, Menzerna Intensive Polish and Finish Polish are nice for most cars stepping up to Super Intensive Polish and Nano Polish for Vettes and harder coats specifically.
Take your PC buffer and press it down onto any bathroom scale until you get to between 20 and 25lbs and see how that feels to your hands. Then take the buffer and press on the paint until you get the same feeling. You'll still vary pressure in some spots, but that's the average amount of pressure you're shooting for.
