Scratch Repair With Factory Touch-Up Paint
I have a very thin (thickness of a fingernail) scratch that is about 3/8" long on my black C6. I was thinking of getting some factory touch-up paint and just filling in the scratch.
My question is: If I get some paint smeared onto the clearcoat (beyond the scratch) will it be easy to wipe off without leaving any permanent paint residue?

Absolutely. You can use mineral spirits (paint thinner) on a rag to wipe up any goofs, from removing all the paint, to even try to shape the paint into the scratch. And, if you let the paint dry a bit, the paint thinner has a partial effect so you can knock down any bumps that are there.
Use this information at your own risk. What works for me may not work for you. Best to convince yourself of the safety of paint thinner on a "small inconspicuous area" (like we want to potentially mess up ANY area of our cars???).
