polisher vs. orbital buffer - difference?
I have always waxed/polished by hand.
But as I get older, I see and hear the results of using one of these.
What's the difference? What should I/should I not buy?
Look into the PC7424. It's a great machine, and very user friendly.
It has it's limitations though.
The next step up would be a UDM, then a rotary.
A rotary in the right hands can do wonders, in the wrong hands can ruin a car.
The PC is meant for applying polishes and correcting minor to moderate problems, and is not necessarily suited for applying sealants/waxes.
I love my PC.
Random Orbitals (PC, UDM, G110, Flex) are well liked units for the home and hobbist and quite safe. The newer machines are much more powerfu and moving towards the correction (polishing) ability of a rotary while being much safer. You will need a little patience with a good orbital but results are satisfying and much more intense that hand application and removal.
