I have a powerball mini that I tried on the car and it was removing water spots that I have not been able to get out. It also didnt leave any swirls from what I could see. Do you think it would be safe to continue using?

I know they sell a big one for paint now but i would think the small one might build up more heat. I don't think I would but that's just my opinion.

If it did build up heat that would be good because that is what polishes need isnt it? I have heard that people havent been able to build up heat with them.

Heat can also be bad for pain if left in one spot for too long. But again that is just my opinion, I am not an expert.

Actually, the larger the diameter the more the heat will increase as the outer edges are spinner much faster then the inner surface.

Thus a larger pad or ball will generate more heat then a smaller one.

One thing to note is that I would not use the Mother's Power Ball on paint, you need to invest in a PC or rotary if you're going to get into polishing the paint. The power ball only offers one type of pad to my knowledge and you need more then one type of pad to do the cutting and then the refining of your finish.

Shine a hallogen or flourescent light on the area you used it - I can't believe that there's no swirls from that!

maybe it's just me, but i can see defects 10x better with a halogen at night over sunlight. even white cars that look flawless during the day will grow imperfections as the sun goes down and the parking lot lights come on.

The Powerball Mini is designed for metal polishing and the new Paint Polishing Ball is said to have a lighter foam core. I would not use either for swirl remover and waterspot repair. Move to a dedicated buffer, even a Random Orbital like the PC will help.

Very true Mark, halogens are the true defect detector, at night for sure and even in the day time in a closed garage, but the sun is unbeatable for showing anything and everything in my exeriences. Even very very fine buffer trails that you can't see with the naked eye at night with halogens the sun will show you.
