Default Flextastic!!!

I recently bought the Flex XC 3401 VRG Orbital Polisher (Dual Action) from Autogeek and let me tell ya........... WHOOOOOOOO it is the cats pajama's!!!!!!

I have used the DeWalt 849 Variable Speed Polisher and that thing whips you around the car and all over the place. It's not a bad polisher by any means, it is just very demanding of you focus and control.

I started on forum member Shagster's 03 TR Z06 last night. I even let my dad give it a whirl. Now he is old school he has 40 years of paint and body experience and even he LOVED the Flex. He said it was very light and very easy to maneuver. So old school loved the new school!!!!!

I will post up pix in a up coming thread of the progress of Shagsters Z. But for now any of those on the fence about buying the Flex.... don't be... just do it and you will be very satisfied. Many thanks to the geek for having such awesome toys for us to play with!!!!

Glad you're happy with the Flex, Joe! It sure is one solid machine, and a pleasure to use.

Whats you opinion on the difference between the Porter Cable DA and the Flex if you used both. Also do you have an opinion on the difference between the Lake Country or any Velcro type pads and Edge self centering adapter?

Thanks

Anthony

To answer your first question, you can throw you PC out the window. It is a great product so don't misunderstand me. But there is no need (IMHO) to own both a PC and the Flex. It can do the work of both pieces of equipment.

Now to answer your second question... I don't have preference as of yet as far as pads go, but I will say that I like to start out with wool and then go to the foam for finishing work. I like the wool because it seems (again IMHO) to cut the best. Both LC and Edge have awesome pads, I have both kinds.

Hope I didn't ramble too much!!!

Anthony they are really not even in the same catagory in terms of correction.

It takes me half the time to fix swirls with the Flex that it does with the Port Cable.

New you would like it Joe!

I just re did my hood and front quarters as I was starting to get a few light scratchs from using detail sprays, and they are as good as new again.

Used some MIP with an orange pad and then some ZPC with the White Pad, finished it up with some Z2 on the black pad.

Looks awesome!

The Flex is gaining alot of popularity since it has been released in greater numbers (quite limited before the holidays) and will be as popular as the PC within the coming year !!

I got mine a week ago and can't wait to use it in the coming week to get both cars ready for Carlisle.... I still have a PC but will use that with the 4 inch pads unless you can get a 4 inch backing plate for the flex...

We are hoping they will come out with different backing plates soon! If not, the Edge route is always a possibility assuming they're not too backed up. A 3.5" or 5" backing plate sure would kick some a$$ on that machine.

All I had to do was one panel with my Flex and put my PC up for sale - no comparison IMO.

I bought the flex and love it. It takes much less time to do a vehicle with the flex.

The PC is still valuable for final finishing (jeweling) the surface and we offer some carpet brushes. No need to sell it ...

How about a group purchase for the Flex? I have a PC and a rotary and would love to get my hands on a Flex (if it's as good as the people that have bought them say it is).

the current Flex kits offer the best values. I will speak with Max about a group purchase or a special sale as possible, and post here if it becomes available.
