Default question about drying with blower

OKay, I was going to buy a blower but have a question. I found a nice small unit that says 150mph the next size up is 200mph but it is much larger and $30 more. I like the smaller size but will it be powerful enough to do the job. OBVIOUSLY the bigger one will work better but in this instance the smaller would be much nicer to work with. I hoped that someone had some insite on the effectiveness with the 150mph??? I tried using my aircompressor........I dont recommend it

air compressor can also blow oil back on car, so not something I would recommend either. The blower you found sounds acceptable. I use the Leaf Hawg and got it from HD for 45.00/

It isn't necessarily the mph that it is capable of either, it is the actual quantity of air that is hitting the car.

If you have a needle sized amount of 150mph air hitting the car you arent going to dry it off very quickly.

The first step is a nozzle-less rinse for the final rinse at a low flow rate. This alone removes an amazing amount of water.
Leaf blower for the bulk of the water, WW towel, leaving a small amount of water behind, end with a light Z6 with a MF towel and it will look great.
I used to work the blower much longer, but the above method is great, and does not take too much time.

I agree. The nozzle-less rinse will make the biggest difference. It's just the more cfm you have, the more air it will move and dry quicker. Then use your favorite QD spray and a MF towel and you're done.

I have an oil-less air compressor and it you find the right nozzle end, it will work. I still have a towel handy but the large wand-type end is an option.
