Hi there:
I just bought a p/c 7424 kit & have a Menzerna show car kit coming in on dec 24th.I want to use this show car kit to remove surface scratches on my hood. These scratches are not into the c/coat. The rest of my car has the swirl marks all over & can only be seen in the sunlight. My car is a 01 vette t/red coupe w/ 16k on the clock never in bad weather. No clay bar cleaning required.I followed auto-geeks video for light swirl mark removal.I used the advanced pinnacle products s/r and f/polish & the different colored pads as directed.I did this procedure twice & my hood is just as shiny as before I started.I then applied meguiars mirror glaze#4 heavy-cut cleaner to remove these scratches. The finish is nice & shiny and scratches are still there.I was using the orange 5.5" (light cut)pads & had the p/c set on speed 6 when working in the removers & polish in the left to right & up & down patterns per the video.I used a 1000 watt halogen light stand to see well.I,am afraid to continue stuck, & disappointed. I think that these fine scratches should come out easy.
Will this show car kit work? Did I waste my money on the show car kit? Any advice on how to use this kit with the p/c 7424 will be greatly appreicated.Any body use this kit on a vette before?
Not a happy camper.

The PC will work if you have enough patience, Menzerna SIP, and go over the area multiple times. Are you moving very slowly? 1-2" / second? Otherwise, the Flex will work without the angst of a rotary.
PC at speed six, orange pad/SIP should do the trick.
As suggested, move slowly, and are you doing just a 2'x2' area at a time? This is critical! 2x2 is very small.
Hi There:
Yes. I first used the blue painters & taped off a 2'x 2' area. I did this to get a picture of what a 2x2 area looks like. Then I taped off the seams between the hood & fenders & the hood flags & left that tape on until I was finished.I was moving the p/c fast with light pressure as to avoid burn through or any other screw ups.
Are the steps using the menzerna kit are about the same as the auto-geek video? (light swirl removal) This video shows the steps & pads required but, are using the pinnacle products.I think I,am a little over anxious like a kid with a new christmas toy.
Thanks for the advice.
Merry Christmas

slow down big time your not going to burn your paint with a pc move VERY SLOW and add about 10 pounds of pressure (.I was moving the p/c fast with light pressure as to avoid burn through or any other screw ups)
Thats your problem you have to let the polish break down really work a small area until the polish turns almost translucent .Check your progress and repeat if swirls are is visible .With a pc it's going to take alot of time to do correction to the vettes hard paint good luck and take your time in the end it will be worth your effort
slow and patience with the PC on high is needed due to the Corvettes clear and PC limitations. It can be done. I find orange/sip , then white/sip, and finally grey/nano are the combo needed. You must work small areas, apply some pressure (not enough to stop its natural movement), and run the polish until it flashes. Moving to the Flex or rotary is preferred if you need faster results.

1-2" max per second. That's pretty slow. NO burn thru potential. Just stay off the corners just to be safe.
