How do I clean / remove this?
This is a close up of the weatherstripping on the top edge of my door.
As you can see, it appears that there are deposits of something all along it. Does anyone else have these? If so, do you know what causes it and how to remove it? I tried scratching at them with my fingernail, but they seem to be pretty stubborn. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

doubt you will be able to remove it, most of the time when i see this its when the rubber has already been compromised.
this might at least make it look better.

I treat all of my weatherstripping yearly with Krytox to keep them soft and from cracking. I've never seen this on my 2001.
Dilectic silicone grease is also an option.
It might be worth trying to start to possibly loosen up whatever it is assuming it is NOT bonded permanaently to the weatherstripping. It may take repeated actions to get rid of whatever it is.

it does look like something is starting to damage the rubber. I would wipe it off with an APC first and then dress with this , easy to use and fantastic results.
