Default Best window cleaner and method???

One thing that drives me nuts when I drive is messy windows. I've been using Invisible Glass spray. I've tried it with microfiber towels, paper towels, cotton towels and I am just not totally satisfied. There's still streaks or a haze on some parts of the window.

What are the rest of you using and/or doing to get really clean windows?

You're on your own for the inside (lotta people, lotta favorites), but for the outside you cant beat a simple squeegee.

When you finish washing it, rinse it off, hit the windows with windex, squeegee them off, rinse off any windex in the corners, squeegee it again, dry the car.

Crystal clean outside windows.

I find thst no matter what product I use it always works better with a soft cotton cloth than with paper towels.
Another trick I learned is to use a vertical motion on the inside of windows and a horizontal one on the outside. This enables me to see where the problem area is.

I have no issues using a dedicated WW MF Glass Towel and Stoners Invisible Glass or Sprayways Glass Cleaner. For some reason these aerosol versions seem to have a bit more cleaning power and removing the chemicals released from plastic and found on interior glass. I do flip towel often and keep away from other towels to avoid lint. Now for the small area under the DIC on front a Glass Wizard is a valuable choice too.

I just bought Zaino Glass polish, and I did my wifes care inside and out and it looks like new, it removed all the hazyness that I had from reg glass cleaner. I will be doing the vette tomorrow.

I used Z Glass Polish for the first time today. I used a machine to polish the windows since I was polishing the car anyway. I haven't seen it outside, yet, but after I wiped off the product, and wiped it with water, now it "pulls" at my towels when I try to wipe it down. Maybe it's because I left it on the window for a few hours....but it did come off easily. It's just left some sort of a weird surface--although it's clear and not smeared--and the surface pulls at my MF towels even after I washed it with Z7.

Any ideas?

This is odd. I noticed the same with the Stoners aerosol. I thought maybe it was a bad batch in the spray container
since it didnt seem to clean like the can product. I used a dedicated glass towel and switched to paper towels thinking the towel was the problem even after a thorough rinsing. Think I will go back to aerosol .

You likely have a very clean surface and have no buildup. In order to get it to bead again and lock in the clean surface, consider an application of Aquapel.

I do custom art framing as a side business so the glass I use in the frames has to be spotless.
Years ago I ran into an article in Consumers report and they gave me this formula:
In a one gallon jug empty one 16 ounce container of rubbing alcohol, 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent, and 1/4 cup of sudsy ammonia. Fill the jug with warm water and shake.
I have never found a better glass cleaner than this. I use it with paper towels and it works like a champ.

One problem I noticed with my micro-fiber towels is they would always leave some kind of streaks no matter how clean I got the glass. I traced it to my wife using "Bounce" sheets with them in the dryer.

50/50 water/IPA work wonders because I think you have some off gassing from your dash and interior. Once you get that vapor off gas off, you will be much happier.

Are you sure your MF are cleaned properly?
What kind of dressings are you using in the interior?
Don't use newspaper as the inks change in the presences of the cleaner.
Stay away from Windex as it contains Ammonia, which is not the best for seals.

Here is a tip:
When cleaning wipe the outside widows in a up and down pattern, and the interior in left to right. This way is residue is left behind you and know which side its on!

Cheers,
GREG

On the outside I use Stoners and a small WW towel with good results. For the inside I use MiraCloths and love them. They are also good for polishing Wine glasses!

Prima "clarity" glass cleaner and prima microfiber glass cloth. Best combo I've used.

Dryer sheets are a no-no with microfiber. They clog the fibers and basically make them useless.

I like Adam's Glass Cleaner, Meguiar's Glass Cleaner Concentrate, or Surf City Garage's Clearly Better with a waffle weave glass towel. For the interior, I spray the product liberally on one side of the towel and use that for the intial pass, then flip the towel to the dry side for the final pass. Works pretty good for me.
