what experience do you have ? if your just starting out ,then i would go with the porter cable 7424 or the new flex random orbital buffer . they are good to learn on and you have to be a dummy to burn the paint with them . an orbital buffer can do great damage if you arent familar with them . hoope this helps
Flex or PC for occasional user and hobbist. Quite safe and can make some serious changes to a finish when used with correct polishes and pads. I highly recommend Menzerna SIP and Nano with these.
For a professional that needs to move units to make $$, likely a rotary or the Flex based upon level of polishing.
Luckily we carry them all, and in packages too. Give us a call !
The only experience I have has given me pain from rubbing so much. I have some fine scratches that I have tried Meguires swirl remover and 800 compound on. Still there but they are not deep enough you can feel them. Next step, some very fine wet or dry.

Try 3M Perfect-It Swirl Mark Remover for Dark Colors or what I prefer is Zaino's Z-PC, both products using a Portal Cable Dual Action 7424 buffer. (Also referred to as a PC or PC/DA.
This will give you very good results without having to have a lot of experience. There are excellent rotary buffers but require a little more skill.
I would get the Flex but if money is an issue the PC is a good machine too.

The Flex is better and will save you time....as it is, the entire polish process takes a whole freakin' weekend to do a thorough job. So reduce the time with a Flex!
Either way....Menzerna SIP is a must, followed by a Menzerna finishing polish like FF or FA or Zaino ZPC.
