I just read an article. Granted it was from Zaino Bros Website, therefore it would seem to be possibly bias but the statement was definitely true and more then likely applies to ALL microfiber products and the vendor you purchase them from.

The question/answer statement:

Q: Are Micro-Fiber products safe to use?

A: Zaino has been testing various Micro-Fiber products. Unfortunately, the jury is still out on them. Some of them are excellent and do not scratch. Others are terrible and definitely scratch. The quality control of these products from overseas, especially Korea, is not consistent, so you never know if they will be the same scratch-free quality. Even when using the same brand, we found the quality to be inconsistent. For now, we do not recommend using them. However, lab testing is ongoing, and we will post an update when we have more conclusive results.

NOTE: If you are already using microfiber towels, look carefully at your paint finish under flourescent light when you are using your towels. If you are not getting any swirls or fine scratches from the microfiber towels, then you are okay and can continue to use them. Remember it's better to be safe than swirly.
I too have noticed this...because we are very cheap here in the united states right now, we buy most our stuff from overseas. If you read the tags on your Microfiber towels and they are from overseas you definitely are at risk. I can relate to this as I purchased some from a Costco and from a Pep Boys and then finally Autogeek. All were from overseas & 2 out of the 3 were poor quality and ended up scratching so I won't be using them anymore. It's really not the vendors faults, its the factories making the products....as stated above, overseas does not have the quality control that we here in the states do. The cobra towels I got from Autogeek I am proud to say are working out just fine. Like the guys at Zaino say just get your towels from whoever you want but be careful they could start scratching at any time. I will stick with my vendor, Autogeek, unless I have problems. When you do encounter a problem, you can do 1 of 2 different things. 1) try to return what you got for another one/set or 2) try a different vendor or store to purchase them. It's really a crap shoot on what you get. Good luck.

I am not commenting on the other vendors towels, but hopefully I can help with some explanation of MF towels.

Most do come from outside the country , from China or Korea, and are shipped in. Usually the products we sell and ship to our clients are first choice or top towels that have been inspected. The ones sold in bulk in packaging from those large bulk stores are often similar and lower quality or blemished. Problem is you dont know, and thus why a bag of cheaper towels can often show many different qualities from one type of towel. Often times resellers, like Autogeek, offer a guarantee and replacement if a bad towel is found. We have shipped entire pallets of towels back when they did not meet our expectation.

Now not to take business away from us, but based upon the reputation and class act that is shown on site by JPM, I suspect you are getting the best towels, and the best pricing, and he stands behind them as he has done in past with other items. There is a difference when buying from a boutique or vendor and we all hope you make that commitment when the time is right.

I would also suggest that you keep these towels seperate from all other laundry and even when washed. MF can really provide some static and pull lint, dirt, and other items from anything it comes in contact with. Remember to never use fabric softner or those smelly sheets in dryer as these too can damage the towels thirst.

Thanks for the props Scott.
Our Super Plush towels are made in the USA and are of the higest quality.
To the OP, The only real test is to try them for yourself and make your own decision. Many people advertise Microfiber but a picture and description can only do so much "You need to try them" and see what they are about.
We at Autobuffs only use top quality items and you can see that by our finished products.
