I have been wanting to pick up some 3M Perfect-it III Ultrafina SE Polish (50383) and was wondering if it is worth picking up some 3M Perfect-it III Fast Cut Plus Compound (50417) and Perfect-it III Extra Fine Compound (80349) while I am at it.
Right now I am using the old pre VOC Compliant version of Perfect-it III compounds that I love and also have the Perfect-it 3000 which is the VOC compliant version that is still good but just not as good as the older stuff.
I would love to hear all of your thoughts.
And are the blue pads that are made for the Ultrafina really worth it/necessary or will I be just as happy with my LC, Meguiars and Edge pads I already have. Thanks.
50383 is the # for the Euro version of 06068 Ultrafine. Which used to be called Ultrafina. Some where claiming that the Euro version was better, but someone emailed 3M in the UK and US and both said they where the same.
The blue LCs will work fine.
Work the 06068 in at 1200 or so, then go to 1800 and apply some pressure. Back off to 800-1000 for the final few passes.
Thanks, I actually was on a foriegn web site when I got the numbers. I didn't realize they were different, thanks. My auto body supply place would think I am nuts when I call and ask for those numbers.
I use the 3M stuff because the local NAPA store carries it. Only place locally with that kind of stuff. I use the #390001, #390002 and their Finesse it polish. I think I am ready for something different now though.
