Default Glaze Advice

I finished polishing my car and plan to use Zaino Z5 as my final polish. I am looking for glaze recommendations - I have Klasse and Meguiars. The Klasse is a monster to get of. I want to put some glaze on the car then layer with Zaino. Any other glaze recommendations that can be topped off with Z5? Thank you

I've heard people successfully topping Klasse AIO with Zaino, but generally, glazes like Meguiars #7, 3M IHG, and similar are supposed to interfere with Zaino bonding due to the oils, etc.

That is correct......

There is one glaze that has a reputation for being a little different bonding wise.

DWG......Danase Wet Glaze......

They use acrylic polymers that aid in bonding to the surface.......

Glazes are generally suited for wax products, not sealants.....

I'd suggest topping your Z5 with Z8 grand finale spray, great look and won't have any bondng issues as is the case with a glaze.

Poorboys now also makes two compatible glazes, one for dark and the other for lights. Quite similar to the other product mentioned here IMO. Please note Klasse Glaze is not really a glaze, but a sealant like Zaino. Thus you are really putting on two coats of sealants.

I already put on a coat of Klasse Glaze. You see any issues if 1. I put the Poorboys over it? Or 2. Clean with Klasse AIO and then glaze?

Also is glaze used as a final top coat? I know it has filling properties but I've heard it washes off easily as well.

Doug is right on, you DO NOT want to use a glaze with Zaino. Zaino's system is a little different where we put the equivalent of what a glaze is to a wax system on last and it is in the form of Z8 or CS and Z8.

If you use a real glaze under Zaino it will effect its bonding and durability.

Just Z8 after you apply your sealant and it will look as good as it possibly can providing the proper prep work was done prior to starting your Zaino application.

Once Klasse SG is cured, you can put a glaze or another sealant over it without issue IMO. I would not necessarily add a glaze and then another sealant however. Too many products having to be compatible. AIO will remove the previous sealants but offers some acrylic protection.

Glazes typically offer no protection and quite limited in durability to a couple hours in environment and clearly gone at first wash. Alot of show cars use glazes just before judging as they want the absolute wettest look and least amount of marks (fillers).

Hey Paulie,

Listen the Killr(Scott), he knows what he's talking about.
