In the US they are all made under license by one company Auto Magic. Use one of the forum sponsor, like AG they offer a clay and a lubricant as a kit

You can acquire a type of clay there that is illegal to buy in the US. It's the yellow elastic type clay that is regarded as the best clay you can get but it has patent issues here. It can also be bought in other countries.

Seriously?? You mean to tell me that there is something in this country that I can buy, that doesn't need all types of permits/licenses/government approvals and signoffs, that's worth a hoot!!

Any idea what brand I'd be looking for, (or any other way of knowing what one to get).

Thanks

Do not forget to give the car a good wash some use Dawn Detergent before you use the clay bar.

Don't need to use dawn detergent. The clay bar will remove any waxes, etc...

That depends on how abrasive the clay is and how durable the lsp is. In some cases clay will not remove the lsp.

Dawn won't necessarily remove all LSP's either. I'd say most clays will.

To the OP, I have been very happy with the Z clay.
To the rest, clay may or may not remove the prior wax/sealant.
A wash, clay, wash, machine polish will, thereby assuring a clean and properly prepared slate.
IMO this is the only way to go, and it eliminates any need/use of dawn.

Same here!
It was the first time I've clayed.
My black 08 C6 was as smooth as glass.
So my wife asked me to clay her diamond white Cadillac SRX.......WOW!
After we where done the clay looked bad....It had some grit.
Two weeks later my father-in law asked me to help clay his 07 F-150
It removed some bad spots in his paint.
So now he's hooked on Zaino!

There are several patents on clay in the US , just do a google search. I have found that we have three nice choices, depending on needs of client.

Light Clay -- Pinnacle Ultra Clay (green)
Normal Clay --- Wolfgang Clay, Mothers Clay Kit
Heavy Clay --- Megs Aggressive Clay (burgundy)
