Default Small rockchips

Hello,

I have some small tiny looking rock chips in the paint. I am not ready or able to have the car repainted. It also looks like there might be some small scratches. I am looking for the best way to clean it up and make it look better and hide these spots. I am hoping that with a good hand washing and possibly waxing the car that i can I hide alot of it and get it to look better.

Thanks

Most people, not saying you're like this, but most people when they want rock chips repaired they want the ugly chips t no longer be visible, they don't want any raised blobs of touch-up paint where the chips used to be, they want it to be relatively easy to do or in-expensive to pay for and if they pay for it then they again, want all of the above.

The problem is doing quality touch-up paint work is difficult and it's usually not fast and finding someone that's really good at it and will even take the job is even harder.

The most common problems are,

The built-in paint brush deposits to much touch-up paint thus you go from a chip to a blob.

Sometimes people will try to sand the blob flat and then somehow remove their sanding marks. The touch-up paint is soft compared to the clear coat finish so the sanding marks come out of the touch-up paint easily but not the clear coat so now you have a shiny touch-up spot a scratched paint surrounding the shiny spot.

If you rub or buff to hard on the touch-up paint you will physically pull it out of the chip so now you're back to where you started except how you have sanding marks still surrounding the chipped area.

Hmm... did I miss anything?

If the car is black, get a black Sharpie and dab some permanent ink into the chipped area, not the best fix but quick and easy and from 10 feet away you don't see the chip. Sometimes you can get away with this using a red Sharpie on a red car.

The best, easiest fix I've ever seen is the Dr. Color Chip repair system, if you can find a person that offers this it works well and is affordable.
