What's the best way to remove bug guts between washes on a Zaino'd finish? The little bugs see the yellow car coming and try to mate with it or something...
I have experience in this area being from the cornfields of the midwest.
I spray diluted Z-7 on the area, wait about 3 minutes for the bug guts to get soft, then wash the car as normal. Some bug guts may stain your washmitt or wash towel. Wash or clean the material as soon as you can or be prepared to throw it away it you can't get the stains out.
During the summer, it's a nightly ritual if I've used the car that day. I use a fairly wet cotton towel to lightly wipe the bugs a few times to soften them up a little, then gentle rubbing with the wet towel to get them off. They come off the Zaino pretty easily. Then a few soft wipes with the towel well wrung out to remove most of the water, then a dry towel to finish .. optionally a little Z6.
I try to never leave bugs on the car overnight. BTW, they really do love the yellow, don't they? You can't park the car for 5 minutes before there're little critters partying all over it, trying to eat it, make love to it, whatever.
You will want to remove "insect remnants" as soon as possible. The stomach acid (which now resides on your paint) from the insect can actually etch your clear coat if left on the finish.
Since you use Zaino, Z-6 should work very well in removing them from the paint.
