Little help please and I have found info through the searches.
Just found and bought the 303 Aerospace "protectant" at the local marine/boating supply store. I want to clean off the white residue finally from the dash & door panels and also protect them. Is the "protectant" the one I want from the 303 line to do this? In other words, can I just use this alone for this purpose. Also, whats the best thing to apply it with. (it just says to wipe on and wipe off).

303 is a great protectant. I think you would want to clean the surface first. Any type cleaner should work fine. I use a foam applicator to aply 303, but a microfiber should work just as well.
Clean any panels prior to dressing them with 303..........
That's a must......
A simple gentle cleaner is Woolite mixed with water......(10-1, water to Woolite)
Think of your interior as you would your car. It's best to clean/wash before you apply your protectants.......
New Micro-fiber towels work great........

Thanks. For some reason I thought the "protectant" was a cleaner also. Thanks for clarifying. I use only mf for washing and wiping down everything but somestimes they tend to drag (maybe if they're not fully wet). I'll probably use one since I have plenty. Again, thanks.

Right. I mostly want to wipe away the white residue and then protect the dash/door panels with a no or low luster finish. For a little over my 3 years, all I've ever done is wipe it off with a wet towel (not even any mild soap). Pretty much "showroom" especially since it's garaged and only has just over 10K on the clock.

It is indeed primarily a protectant with the lightest of cleaners, and super UV protection too. I would wipe down the entire interior with a damp towel (you can use a little APC as desired) or a product like Einszett Cockpit Premium.
The protectant can also be used on tires, and finished leather. Its a great product indeed !

Been using 303 for over 7 years when I got our C5 and use on the both Vettes and our Silverdao that is not garaged, and at 3 years the dash and doors on the truck still look new, mine have never been more than dusty so I just spray 303 on a MF Towel and go over where I want it and it is so easy to use, never have had any white spots on our vehicles
Thanks all! I'll continue to wipe it down with a lightly dampened mf and then put the "protectant" on. BTW, would you recommend wiping it on my new DSVettes leathergoods (i.e. shift boot, e-brake handle/boot, and leather steering wheel) or is there a better suited leather protector?

Scott, I've been using optimum protectant plus on the dash and door panels in my Vette. However, I can seem to get a consistent finish, it seems splotchy when seen in the right lighting. Is this common with all Vette's? I wonder if 303 would be easier to apply?

Most of the aftermarket leather used by vendors is actually uncoated (unfinished) and quite different that finished leather used in cars. (you can often feel the difference). If the leather is uncoated you should consider Conollys Hide Food and Leatherique as great products to keep leather supple and new.

I too have experienced some blochy-ness with protectants and the interior dash and doors on Vettes. I really think it has more to do with the actual material they used. Thats why I often feel a lightly damp towel and something like Einszett Cockpit Premium just keeps it new and natural and no whiting. If you choose a protectant I would experiment with how much is applied and applicators to see if you can control it more. Sometimes a quick rewipe with a clean towel will help even out the look too.

Thanks Scott. I'll call Gerry and ask which type of leather they use.
