I'm still a little fuzzy on what it does, exactly. Do you mix it in with one of the existing Zaino products? Does it replace one of the Zaino products? I have about 3 coats of Z-5 on my '00 C5 right now. I have yet to use Z-1. I clayed the first time, but not the whole car.
Basically, it accelerates the curing process and eliminates the need for Z1 (while Z2 or Z5 alone will work, it will last longer with the occasional coat of Z1) You mix ZFX with either Z2 or Z5. The biggest benefits are the elimination of Z1, the much faster dry time, and the ability to put on more than one coat in a day (up to 3).
Think of the ZFX this way, before with Z-1 the Z-1 activated the Z-2 and Z-5 AFTER they made contact with the paint, ZFX activates the Z-2 and Z-5 BEFORE they make contact with the paint, pretty simple hugh?
ZFX will replace Z1, but I am wonder if you really just used Z5 without using Z1 first. If you aren't using ZFX you need to use Z1 before anything else.

Well,I've already got three coats of Z5 on there right now. Should I go with Z1 now and then back to Z5?
You'll love it. It makes life MUCH easier. :yesnod:
I'm not really sure I agree with this.. I put on 3 coats today where without ZFX, I only get one... A bit more work.  But I love it!! I'm pooped.. great stuff!
Well you need to put Z1 wait for it to dry then put Z5 over it. You should be able to pick up from there. Maybe email Sal Zaino wet@zainobros.com and ask him what is the right way to do this.
I stand corrected don't wait for Z1 to dry. :bb I was really just trying to say you need to use Z1 with Z5.
No, you do not wait for Z-1 to dry, Z-1 will NEVER really dry unless it comes into contact with Z-2,3, or 5. Z-1 is ready for Z-2,3, or 5 as soon as it touches the paint.
