Default Machine polisher problem

Pretty obvious. The sander pad I removed is a male part and the new polisher back plate is female with much larger threads.

Tell my I am not screwed. SURELY there is a convertor. I was under the impression most of these tools had a universal attachment.

Are you using a dual action buffer ??? Looks like the flexible backing plate is actually for a rotary. Here is an option:

Thanks...exactly what I was looking for.

I'll be using PC 7336. I think that's DA. It's got 6 speed settings. It swivels and spins...guess that's what you mean.

you are indeed correct, the posts are different between rotaries (circular) and random orbitals. Two choices really , one is to exchange backing plate to correct model or second is to use the adapter that I forwarded in earlier post. (tighten well)

Good way to look at the backing plates is the Rotary is a female and the DA is a male!
If you are using a Porter Cable you will need the male DA backing plate like this one.

Here is Rotary (female) backing plates
