Looking for input on the best way to remove bugs from the vette after a quick drive.
I live out in the suburbs and everytime I go for a drive I run into some bugs and was just wondering if there is a way to remove them short of doing a complete wash of the car. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Just be sure to keep the nose well waxed. Bugs on mine come off with a soft cloth and water if you catch them within a few days.
The longer they cook on there, the harder it is. If it's been several days a wash mitt and a little carwash soap should do it. If it's been weeks, it's time to was the car anyway.

After you drive it lay a warm, wet towel over the front end and let it sit for a few minutes. The bugs will slide off. Then dry it and use a quick detailer like Zaino Z6. If you keep a good coat of polish/wax on the car this works like a charm.
Always your rule number one in the war against bug grime is to act quickly. Many of these insects have acidic body fluids which can permanently etch your car's finish if allowed to bake under the sun/heat. The sooner you remove bug smear the better. A few layer's of Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant and Collinite Paste Wax on your car's finish will help alot, but remember to get them off ASAP from your vehicle.
I always carry a Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Sponge, a bottle of 1Z einszett Anti-Insekt + Pre-Cleaner and also some of our Super-plush, Mult-task, Microfiber Towels and a bottle of H2O all in a small bucket for that task when traveling. Remember when your done removing these pest, to recoat the surface area that you work on to protect it from more of these bugs when traveling or just driving around your area.

I like 3m's general purpose adhesive cleaner for bugs or tar removal. I've been using it for 20+ years. Like people have mentioned, be sure to keep the nose well polished/waxed. That way, it doesn't give the insects a chance to break through and "etch" the finish. They're very acidic.
