I know the whole package is best, but..is the clay bar really important? its my first time, i ordered ZFX, Z2, Z5, and Z6. should i call back and get the clay too? what exactly is the benifit of using clay? anyone leave it out and have just as good results??
The clay removes all the little contaminants that get stuck to your paint without you even noticing, until you run your hand across the paint and it feels gritty. Well worth the time and expense, IMHO.
YES :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
You have no idea how much you will love it. Get some Z-7 too! What did you plan on washing your car with? :D Zaino gets Zaino wash. And if you dont have any leather cleaner/conditioner, try to get some Z-9 and Z-10
Claybar works the best on a red car as a matter of fact. That and...well, there's this other stuff, Alecks (Red 88 IROC-Z) uses it to get water spots off, and he said it works like a CHAMP. No need to get the Zaino Claybar, I've heard that Mother's Clay Bar is the best. :D (I have one, it's gotten good use too, it just doesn't really do much to a black car :(

Re: Clay Bar...worth it? (chrisquik)
I did the entire Zaino treatment to my wife's Lexus LS430 - all except using a clay bar. Car looked ok, but nothing special.
One saturday, I gave Sal a bump and asked if claying after Zaino was a problem - he said to give it a go, so I went ahead and clayed the car.
Results were astounding. First, the claying process goes much easier than other cars I've done right after stripping off all wax. The bar just slid along.
After washing and re-applying a finish coat of Zaino, the car shines like it has a $70K paint job! Months later, people still comment about the 'quality paint' on our Lexus.
