I just purchased a 2001 Black coupe w/ 27k miles. Looks/drives like new. Has the chrome Z06 wheels on it, but the inside of the rims behind the spokes look like there has been some corroding and/or peeling of the finish. The spokes and outside edges of the rims look like new, and only the rims on one side of the car are effected. Any ideas on how to restore or repair the rims to like new condition would be appreciated.

Reason: correction
Those are the C5 Z06 rims, and it seems to be quite common to have that corroding/peeling happen to chrome wheels. Brake dust is the most likely culprit as it is very corrosive. I have the same thing starting to happen on my 2005 chrome aftermarket wheels so I'll be looking for some helpful answers.
