Is there a difference between the touch up paint (black) that you buy from, say, Checkers and the touch up paint you get from the dealer??? Thanks in advance. :seeya
Thanks! I'm bringing the car to LaMettry's (sp?) to get an estimate on buffing the finish out - I'll see what they say about the touch up paint there. I actually found some black touch up paint in the garage - but I think it's from the Jimmy I just got rid of. Not something I want to use, right???
I assume you are covering rock chip type things? Take a book of matches, tear one off. See the little fuzzy end on it? This is your brush. Dip it in the paint, and daub it on offending spot!
A little at a time here is the key. It will take several "Layers" to fill in the chip. Let it dry before you apply your second layer!
You can then hit the spot with some wetordry sandpaper from your local 3M store if you are so inclined!
That is a little more tricky however,,,,,,,,

Nah. Why not just get some paint that matches your car perfectly. Your always going to need it!!! :)
Good idea using the end of the match!! I'm going to use Langka on the freshly-dried touch-up area....so I'm not too concerned with the layers and layers. I'm just going to blob it on there, let it dry 2-4 hours, then "Langka" it. :D Wish me luck!! :) :blueangel:

Please let us know how it turns out. Pix would be nice.
Inquiring minds want to know :D
Bill :) :)
Welllllllllll? I "Langka'd" today... good thing it was in an inconspicuous spot, that's all I have to say. :( Maybe it's something that takes a little practice.
I've abandoned having the finished buffed out, too - the benefits just wouldn't be that great. I did get an estimate on re-painting, though... $5,000. It's mainly the hood, with the minute rock chips, that's driving me nuts. The suggestion was then made by the shop to just have the hood re-shot - I'm thinking not....it's all or nothing. They'd have the car for 3-4 weeks. :cry In that case, they won't be getting the car until towards the end of the summer.
