Ok, so I got some yesterday and started cleaning the engine bay on my C5. DANG there are a lot of surfaces on that engine. My hands are too big to reach a whole bunch of them too.
The way I'm using it, is that I'm spraying it onto a paper towel and wiping down the engine. Can I just spray the whole bay and rinse it down when I'm done with low water pressure? Otherwise this is going to take a HECK of a lot longer than I thought.
If you spray water in the engine compartment, make sure you cover all of your electrical components with plastic wrap and tape, to seal it in. It is not a huge problem with the LS1 engine like it was with the ignition system on LT1 equiped cars.
There's a much simpler and easier method, but you have to get hold of a Meguiar's distributor for the products you'll need. First you spray the whole engine compartment with Meguiar's Citri-Gel. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then hose it off. Then spray it down again with Meguiar's Engine Kote, close the hood, and let it dry. When it's dry, your engine will look just like brand new. By the way, I picked up this info at the Bloomington Gold Detailing workshop. I've tried it and it works. Just make sure that you soap up the adjacent body panels before you start spraying on the engine.
