My local Sears has a 6 inch random orbit motion buffer/polisher on sale this weekend for $15 - 1/2 off.
What to look for in a buffer/polisher?
Griot's Garage has one they call the ultimate for almost $200. What could possibly be the difference? (I know Griot stuff is pricey.) It spins. It spins in a random motion. What else is there?

never tried one of the cheaper ones. i bought a porter-cable 7424 model just because people here on the forum said it was good. talk about influencial, eh?

I have a Makita rotary buffer...Lots of body shops use 'em. I have on a few occasions...but try not to unless it's entirely necessary. The wrong grit compound, or too much working in one spot, bye bye paint or clear coat.
